Always held on the Labor Day weekend these Games are sponsored by the Caledonian Club of San Francisco.   Founded on November 24 1866, the Caledonian Club of San Francisco is one of the oldest Scottish clubs in California. It has been running their annual Scottish Highland Gathering and Games, currently held at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, every year since 1866. Record crowds close to 50,000 attended the Sesquicentennial Scottish Highland Gathering and Games on September 5-6, 2015.
